Ticonderoga. Donald Francis McCoy, 87, of Ticonderoga, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Heritage Commons Residential Healthcare of Ticonderoga.
Born in Johnsburg, NY, November 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Leland and Gladys (Hurley) McCoy.
Mr. McCoy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was resident of Ticonderoga for most of his life, and was employed by the Town of Ticonderoga in the Maintenance Department for many years.
Mr. McCoy was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Donald was pre-deceased by his wife, Florence Mae (O'Dell) McCoy; one daughter, Charlene Norton; and two step-children, Terry Burns and Robert Burns; and one brother, William McCoy.
Survivors include five children, Gordon McCoy of Hague, Carlene LaRose of Ticonderoga, Georgianna Merritt of Ticonderoga, Donna Whitford of Malta, and Sandra Clarke of Ticonderoga; three step-children, Thomas Burns of Garden Grove, California, Bruce Burns of Ticonderoga, and Rosemary Pease of Colchester, Vermont; one sister, Marilyn Rodick of Moriah; and one brother, Robert McCoy of Schroon Lake. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga. The Rev. Charles Bolstridge, Pastor of the Cornerstone Alliance Church, will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga.
