Benjamin F. Nicola died on December 12, 2013 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Benji was born in Massena, NY on July 11, 1942 and attended Massena schools.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Dominic Nicola of Massena and Carrie Reynolds Nicola of Winter Park, Florida. He is survived by Charles and Joyce Reynolds, Massena; Stephanie Nicola, Monroe, Georgia; Frederica (Nicola) and William Capshaw, Dobbs Ferry, NY; and Donn Nicola, Winter Park, Florida; his aunt Rose Nicola, Massena, and several cousins and nieces and nephews. Benji was a resident of Montcalm Manor in Ticonderoga for many years. Since 2009 he resided at Indian River Nursing Center in Granville, New York.
Benji was the grandson of Mae Jordan Reynolds who instilled in him a pride in his Mohawk First American heritage, and of Ben and Theresa Nicola whose Italian-American family culture and cooking he loved. He was also a great fan of country music, of Elvis Presley, and of New York City.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga.
