Goshen, NH: Donald A. Davis, 74, of Lear Hill Road, passed away March 19, 2013 at his winter home in Polk City, FL.
Donald was born on April 29, 1938 in Moriah, NY, the son of Robert and Regina (Merrill)Davis.
He proudly served his country for four years in the Army.
Don married his wife Alice (Bush) on July 31, 1959.
He worked at Claremont Paper Mill for several years before becoming a businessman. He was the owner of Don Davis Construction. He loved to play in the dirt and was best known as "Digger Davis."
Don loved hunting, fishing and antique tractors. He enjoyed sharing his love of tractors by entering them in local parades.
Don was a member of the Cheshire-Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge and Bektash Shriners. He was also a member of the Moose.
The family includes his loving wife Alice of 53 years, his daughters Tammy Flewelling and her husband Mark Jr. of Newport, NH, Sandra Millette and her husband Matt of Lakeland FL. His grandchildren Gregory Millette and his wife Amber of Unity, NH, Adam Flewelling of Newport, NH, Stephanie Millette and her husband Peter of Lakeland, FL, Brent and Bradley Flewelling of York, SC. His greatest gifts in later life were his great grandchildren, Kayla Murphy and Brianna Millette of Unity, NH, Brycen Flewelling of Newport, NH, and Ayden Leonard of Lakeland Fl.
He also leaves his brothers Robert Davis of Newport, NH, Willis Davis of Willsboro, NY, Lyman Davis and Carl Davis both of Westport, NY, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don was predeased by his parents, Robert Davis of Mira Loma, CA and Regina Decker of Wadhams, NY, his sister Carol Calkins of Wadhams, NY and stepfather Edward Decker of Wadhams, NY.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Don's life at the Croydon Flat Church, Croydon, NH on April 6, 2013 at 11:00AM officiated by Rev. Donna Leslie.
The family suggests that donations be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital Springfield, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
