Sabbath Day Point. John "Jack" K. Carney, Sr., 93, of Sabbath Day Point, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center of Albany, NY.
Born in Port Henry, September 2, 1919, he was the son of the late Bruce and Lillian (Kelley) Carney.
Mr. Carney was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during W.W. II as a Combat Medic. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
Jack was a lifelong Sabbath Day Point resident and was self-employed as a General Contractor in Sabbath Day Point for many years. He took great pride in his trade and was a master home builder whose workmanship will survive for many generations.
Jack was a member of the American Legion of Hague and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #1494 of Ticonderoga. He was also an avid golfer and member of the Ticonderoga Country Club.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Florence Carney on May 16, 2001. He was also pre-deceased by two brothers, Frank Carney and Bruce C
