Robert M. Davis
Newport, NH: Robert M. Davis, 80, of Syndicate Street, passed away at the Elm Wood Care Center in Claremont, Thurdsay night, December 5, 2013, following a period of declining health.
Robert was born in Moriah, NY on February 6, 1933, son of the late Robert H. and Regina (Merrill) Davis. He grew up in Moriah, NY and joined the Army serving in the Korean War. Bob was employed as a truck driver most all his life. He enjoyed hunthing, fishing and camping, liked to read and play jokes and pranks on his family and friends, and was considered a fun troublemaker. He has lived in Newport since 1969 and married the former Cindy L. Wrightington in 1991, sharing 22 years of marriage.
Bob is survived by his wife, Cindy, of Newport, 2 sons: Robert Davis of Nags Head, NC, John Davis of Gansevoort, NY, 5 daughters: Roberta Davis of Glens Falls, NY, Pam Monroe of Corinth, NY, Miche Milcendeau of Weare, NH, Danielle McNeel of Newport, NH, Hazel Stone of Newport, NH, 3 brothers: Lyman Davis of Westport, NY, Carl Davis of Westport, NY, and Willard Davis of Willsboro, NY and a sister-in-law: Alice Davis of Newport, NH; 34 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother: Don Davis and a sister: Carol Calkins.
A memorial service will be held soon. There will be no calling hours.
