Lester Sternin, 89, of Minerva, NY, formerly of Roslyn Heights, NY passed away Friday, November 30, 2012.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Lavitt Sternin. He is survived by his daughters Ronnie Silver and Margie Bloomberg; brother, Stanley Sternin; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many friends and caregivers who are like family; and his dear dog Whiskey.
Lester was the retired owner and director of Camp Che-Na-Wah, past president and 20 year member of Minerva Central School Board and member of the WSWHE BOCES, proud veteran of Army Corps and lifetime member of the Democratic Party and the NRA.
He was a lifelong student of world events, a fastidious record-keeper, a teller of tall-tales, a patriot and a clever, funny and generous one-of-a kind man.
